Passion Pit is a lot the IRS. You sit and wait, impatiently, for something you've been looking for all year and juuusst about when you've given up on them, boom. They drop a little present in your mailbox. You got me again boys, you got me again.

It's not the typical catchy, synth infused fun that we expect for our Massachusetts friends but it definitely grows on you the more you listen. Nothing is certain except death and Passion Pit. Enjoy...

[Concert] M83 - Terminal 5, NY - May 10th, 2012

Between the bouncing glow of flash happy iphones and the star emblazoned lightboard, a bunch of hip Frenchies took to the NY venue, Terminal 5, to bring quite the impressive show along. Even after stops in Chicago and Coachella, Mr Gonzalez brought his uber gifted synth playing abilities hard on Friday night. Playing a gravity ridden amount of Hurry Up We're Dreaming peppered with popular tracks like We Own The Sky and his lesser known songs from his first album, such as the erratic synth slapping song, Sitting. Thanks again to Ra Ra Riot's Chris for setting it up. See you again in August, Anthony.

[Concert] Gasparilla Music Festival

Join me on Saturday, March 10th at Curtis Hixon Park for the inaugural Gasparilla Music Festival.  The artists will perform behind the iconic, rather regal, minarets of The University of Tampa, echoing their art along the Hillsborough River in to the mouth of the Bay. GMF organizers did a rather impressive job tying in it's performers with the City history and it's surroundings to create almost a movement rather than a festival.

I'm on the fence with this one. Not sure if I dig the new CYHSY sound or not. The familiar distortion you'd expect is almost all but gone along with lead singer Alec Ounsworth actually attempting to sing combines for a weird, unfamiliar feeling. The internet-famed Brooklyn band's album, Hysterical, is out in September. Here's the poppy, all-to-clean sounding, "Same Mistake."

Yeasayer - Devil and The Deed

New Yeasayer? New Yeasayer. The Faux Your Ears favorite performed their new song, "Devil And The Deed" on Conan the other night. Good mix the new wave and afro beat sound we expect to hear from Yeasayer with a catchy synth hook at 2:50. Not sure when the new album is set to release but it's reassuring to know one is on zee way. Video and mp3 below.
