Join me on Saturday, March 10th at Curtis Hixon Park for the inaugural Gasparilla Music Festival. The artists will perform behind the iconic, rather regal, minarets of The University of Tampa, echoing their art along the Hillsborough River in to the mouth of the Bay. GMF organizers did a rather impressive job tying in it's performers with the City history and it's surroundings to create almost a movement rather than a festival.
From the folk/bluegrass headliner, Deer Tick, to the 2012 Grammy award winning brass ensemble of Rebirth, the musical variety will be aplenty at the festival. Music fests are staples of most Metropolitan cities. And Tampa finally has it's very own. Finally, a music festival in Tampa that isn't terrible amalgamation of local radio station trash.
